Description
The Scarpantibus CDC Wing Dry Fly is the technical Italian dry fly ideal for fly fishing trout and grayling in clear, shallow water. This set of 3 flies represents the evolution of the classic Scarpantibus, with an innovative white CDC wing that guarantees natural floatation and maximum visibility even in the smallest sizes.
Tying features: Each fly is hand-tied in Italy with artisan precision. The white CDC wing replaces the traditional dressing, making it lighter and more reactive to the slightest current breath. The purple tying thread body, the wrapped peacock quill tag and the brown hackle complete the essential profile, perfect for selective fish that scrutinise the fly up close.
Technical specifications: Barbless dry hooks in sizes #16, #18 and #20, ideal for delicate presentations in low-water and drought conditions. The reduced hook size avoids disturbing the fish population and ensures a better hook-up in the jaw.
When to use it: Perfect in summer and autumn on rivers such as the Tagliamento, Piave and alpine streams where fish selectivity is at its peak. The visibility of the white CDC makes it easier to track the fly even at distance and in low light.
Target species: Brown trout, marble trout and grayling in oligotrophic waters and mountain streams. Also effective for rainbow trout in oligotrophic lakes and reservoirs.
Choose the Scarpantibus CDC Wing Dry Fly when you’re after a technical, reliable dry fly built according to the Italian tradition of fly fishing.
