Description
Midges — chironomids — are the most widespread aquatic insects in trout waters and the only ones to hatch virtually all year round: they are what keeps fish feeding in winter, on flat-calm days and in every situation where nothing else is hatching. The Pink & Yellow Midge interprets the adult as an attractor pattern: the body in pale yellow 10/0 tying thread stays as slim as the natural’s abdomen, while the dyed pink cock hackle adds the trigger point that decides the most selective rises and makes the fly visible on the surface film even in the smallest sizes. The grub hook, short-shanked and curved, gives the body the arched profile of the insect emerging through the film. To be fished static on rises right at the surface, with fine tippets, 0.10-0.12 mm. Each fly is hand-tied by Massimo Clini. Tied on a barbless hook: unhooking is quick and fish are released unharmed. Pack of 3 flies. Available in sizes #18 and #20.
