Description
The CDC Simple Yellow Dry Fly is an essential pattern for selective fish: grayling and trout that scrutinise the fly up close and refuse anything that doesn’t convince. Hand-tied in Italy, the set includes 3 flies.
It doesn’t imitate a single stage of the insect but suggests two. On the grub hook the body curves and sits down in the film like an emerger leaving its shuck, while the CDC grey hackle suggests the wings and legs of the freshly hatched dun. The CDC fibres move at the slightest breath of current and give the fly a lifelike impression that even the wariest fish struggle to ignore.
The yellow biot body is naturally segmented and stays slim even when wet, tied in with black 10/0 tying thread. The yellow biot body imitates the pale mayflies that hatch on summer evenings, when rises become frequent and fish pick carefully what they take.
Available on barbless grub hooks in sizes #16, #18 and #20.
