Description
The CDC Simple Pink Dry Fly is an essential pattern for difficult fish: selective grayling and trout that inspect the fly up close and refuse anything unconvincing. Hand-tied in Italy, the set includes 3 flies.
It doesn’t imitate a single stage of the insect but suggests two. On the grub hook the body curves and sits down in the film like that of an emerger leaving its shuck, while the CDC grey hackle suggests the wings and legs of the freshly hatched imago. The CDC fibres move at the slightest hint of current, giving the fly a lifelike impression that even the wariest fish struggle to ignore.
The pink biot body is naturally segmented and stays slim even when wet, tied with black 10/0 tying thread. The pink biot body is a touch of colour that often makes the difference with grayling, which are very sensitive to pinkish hues: a variant worth trying when natural colours are being ignored.
